Some write fast in multiple drafts, others write slow and edit as they go. Whatever works for you, just get it done. I firmly believe publishing is the most important step to becoming a writer. Instead, what if you got feedback from a writing friend or even by our Becoming Writer community?

One of the things I know about writing is this: Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. Do you like to write short stories? I always wanted to write short stories beside novels because I like the small size and the big possibilities.

Thank you for this! So I must agree that creating short, GOOD pieces is pretty difficult comparatively…short stories are just that. They are short, and thus they are limited. And everything from the characters to the plot development and conclusion must be complete in that short story. I wrote my first short story in years recently, and yes, for me it is very difficult.
